Resources for small business in response to COVID-19 

Gain the confidence to make decisions and get the resources you need to understand, work on and pivot your business.

The Department of Employment, Small Business and Training, partnered with TAFE Queensland to offer packages to small businesses to provide professional assistance in response to COVID-19. Packages were delivered in the form of webinars, which offered over 1150 small businesses in Queensland the opportunity to learn how to build financial resilience with tools, skills and business strategies to help respond to potential financial and business challenges.

    In times of fluctuating revenues, it's critical for small businesses to carefully manage their cash flow to meet their financial obligations and to reduce stress levels. In this webinar, we provided practical information on effective cash flow management in times of financial crisis


    BUSINESS PLANNING/STRATEGIES WEBINAR 2 

    In this webinar, we provided information and templates to help you take stock of your situation and suitable strategies to respond to business impacts of COVID-19. We shared a range of strategies to implement improvements to cashflow by addressing various aspects of the business.

     
    PANEL MENTORING SESSIONS WEBINAR 3

    A panel of TAFE Queensland facilitators and small business experts from a range of professions, such as accounting/finance, legal and turnaround specialists shared a discussion panel, steered by questions you had prior to the event. This webinar was interactive to allow participants to gain knowledge specific to their circumstances.

    Do I qualify for this package?

    Participation is as per the intent of the Queensland Government’s Immediate Industry Recovery Package to provide support for small businesses economically impacted by COVID-19. To be eligible for workshops, a business must:

    • self-identify to have been economically impacted by COVID-19;
    • have fewer than 20 employees on 1 January 2020;
    • have an Australian Business Number (ABN); and
    • not have an owner or director who is an undischarged bankrupt or insolvent.
