In response to COVID-19

Training and mentoring packages are available for eligible small businesses from the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training, partnering with TAFE Queensland. These webinars will help you identify risks,  build financial skills and plan to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on your business.

Webinars are specific to your region and fully funded by the Queensland Government at no cost you and you are welcome to attend each of them.

WEBINAR 1
MANAGING CASH FLOW IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19


In times of fluctuating revenues, it's critical for small businesses to carefully manage their cash flow to meet their financial obligations and to reduce stress levels.

In this webinar, we will provide practical information on effective cash flow management in times of financial crisis. You will gain the knowledge and tools to build a perpetual thirteen-week cash flow plan for your business, using Microsoft Excel. This plan is a multi-sheet Excel workbook and report for your business that draws on worksheets including your anticipated cash/credit sales, fixed payment overheads, the accounts payable ledger, the accounts receivable ledger and capital flow expectations. You will receive a series of practical resources to help you build your cash flow plan at your own pace. 

Additional time at the end of the webinar will be used for discussion and answering questions.

You will need access to the Internet and Microsoft Excel to participate. 



    WEBINAR 2
    BUSINESS PLANNING/STRATEGIES IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19
    In this one hour webinar, you will be provided information and templates to help you take stock of your situation and suitable strategies to respond to business impacts of COVID-19. You will use your cash flow forecast to develop a payment plan to help your business with any anticipated cash flow difficulties. Then sources of specialist business advice that can support your decision making if your business experiences financial difficulties.

    This is delivered as a one hour webinar with additional time at the end to be used for discussion and answering questions. You will need access to the internet to participate.

    PANEL MENTORING SESSIONS

    Join a one hour webinar and hear from a panel of TAFE Queensland facilitators and small business experts from a range of professions, such as accounting/finance, legal and turnaround specialists. This webinar is interactive and you will be able to ask questions and gain knowledge specific to your circumstances.

    One-on-one mentoring sessions are also available, all fully funded, at no cost to you. Join the webinar to find out more.

      Do I qualify for this package?

      Participation is as per the intent of the Queensland Government’s Immediate Industry Recovery Package to provide support for small businesses economically impacted by COVID-19. To be eligible for workshops, a business must:

      • self-identify to have been economically impacted by COVID-19;
      • have fewer than 20 employees on 1 January 2020;
      • have an Australian Business Number (ABN); and
      • not have an owner or director who is an undischarged bankrupt or insolvent.
