INTERNATIONAL STUDENT CRISIS ASSISTANCE PACKAGE
Study Queensland recognises that many international students have lost their income and are feeling a heightened sense of anxiety being away from family during the pandemic, with many unable to travel home. The new funding complements a range of relief programs already introduced by the Queensland Government, universities, education and training providers and local communities to support students during this difficult time.
TAFE Queensland has received a limited amount of funding for International Student Visa holders who are experiencing severe financial hardship. To ensure TAFE Queensland can help as many TAFE Queensland students as possible, we are offering severe hardship funds up to the value of AUD$400.
You ARE eligible to apply if you are:
- Over 18
- Currently studying in a CRICOS registered program with TAFE Queensland
- Hold an international student visa
- Currently living in Queensland
- Must have an Australian bank account
- Have AUD$1000 or less in your bank account - with proof of transactions from 4 May 2020 onwards
As there is limited funding available, applicants will be assessed and only those students experiencing severe financial hardship will receive the international student crisis assistance package.
If you are deemed eligible or not, TAFE Queensland will notify you of the outcome, submitting an application does not guarantee you will be granted the funds.
Applications open Monday 1 June 2020 and close off at 5pm, 8 June 2020. No applications will be accepted after this time. Applications will be assessed and applicants notified of outcome from 22 June 2020. To apply for this severe financial hardship funding and be assessed, all parts of the application form must be complete, true and accurate upon submission.
